Government opens some arcades as the lockdown continues to be lifted: others remain closed (full list)

As the government continues to ease the lockdown in Uganda, some business owners can now smile after the opening of some arcades in the capital Kampala. However, some arcades are to remain closed as a result of not abiding to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as provided by the ministry of health.

This came after the cabinet minister of trade, indusrty and cooperatives Amelia Anne Kyambadde inspected a number of arcades to ensure they abide to the SOPs and a list of 48 arcades to be opened was developed.

The reopening of the arcades was pushed by the traders after they opened their businesses to show their concern about remaining closed while other arcades are opened.
